Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of the Covina Concrete website and the concrete work we do for you. When you use this site, ask us for an estimate or hire us, you agree to them, so please read them first.
If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site. If you have a question about any part of them, call us at (626) 412-8840 or reach us through our contact page before you go ahead.
What we do
Covina Concrete is a concrete contractor in Covina, CA. We build and repair driveways, patios, walkways, steps, garage floors, pool decks, retaining walls, footings and slab foundations for homes and businesses in Covina and the cities around it. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
What you read on this site is general information about concrete work. It isn't advice for your property, because every job depends on the ground, the drainage and the slab that's already there. The scope of your job is the one in your written estimate or agreement.
Estimates and pricing
We give free in-person estimates with no obligation, because we need to see the site before we can price it fairly. Your estimate lists the work, the materials and the price, and it holds for the period it states.
The price can change if we find something nobody could see during the estimate, such as soft or wet ground under an old slab, buried debris, roots or pipes. If that happens, we stop and talk with you first, and we don't do extra work until you approve the change in writing.
Any figures on this website are general information and not a quote. Only a written estimate or agreement from us sets the price of your job.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We set your start date with you once you accept the estimate. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour for rain, high heat or wind, since a slab poured in poor conditions can end up weaker. We'll tell you as soon as we know and set a new date with you.
Please give us clear access to the work area on the scheduled day and keep cars, pets and people off fresh concrete until we tell you it's ready. Fresh concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it gains strength, and damage from early use isn't covered.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, let us know as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials, rented equipment or done prep work, your agreement says what you owe for that.
Payment
Your written agreement sets the deposit, if any, the payment schedule and the payment methods we accept. Final payment is due when the work in the agreement is done, unless the agreement says otherwise.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's made. You're responsible for reasonable costs we have to pay to collect an unpaid balance, to the extent California law allows.
Our work and what concrete can and can't promise
We're fully licensed and insured, and our goal is your satisfaction with the finished job. If something in our work isn't right, call us and we'll come out and look at it with you.
Concrete cracks as it shrinks and as the ground moves, even when it's built correctly. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give cracks a place to form, but we can't promise a slab will never crack, and small hairline cracks are normal.
We aren't responsible for damage caused by things outside our work, including ground movement, tree roots, flooding, de-icing salts, heavy vehicles the slab wasn't built for, changes to drainage after we leave, or use before the concrete has cured. Color and texture can vary from samples and from one pour to the next, because concrete is a natural material.
Any written warranty we give you for a job is the one in your agreement. Apart from that, and as far as the law allows, we don't make other promises, spoken or implied, about our work or this website.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, Covina Concrete isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway, lost income or damage that follows from a problem rather than the problem itself. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We aren't liable for anything you do based on general information on this website. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under California law that can't be limited.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with something, call us first at (626) 412-8840 or use our contact page, because most problems get fixed fastest with a conversation and a visit to the site. We'll work with you in good faith to sort it out.
If we can't settle it between us, either side may take it to the state or local courts serving Los Angeles County, California, unless your written agreement sets out another way to resolve it.
Which law applies
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the current one. A change doesn't affect a job already covered by a signed agreement, unless we both agree to it in writing.
You can always find these terms from our home page. If anything here is unclear, call us at (626) 412-8840 and we'll explain it.
