About our concrete contractor business in Covina

Who runs Covina Concrete, how we work, and what happens after you call.

How a landscaper ended up pouring concrete

I ran a landscape installation business before this one, and I kept hiring out the concrete. After enough jobs, I decided to learn it from the finishers I was paying, and in 2013 I switched to concrete full time. Today Covina Concrete is a concrete contractor in Covina, CA. We're best known for driveways, patios and the flatwork around a house, the slabs, walks and steps that sit at ground level. We also take on foundations, walls, cutting and small commercial lots.

What I care about most is the part you won't see once the concrete is down. That's the base under the slab, the forms that shape it and where the control joints go, the cuts that give a slab a straight line to crack along instead of across the middle. A nice finish on a bad base doesn't last. If the budget gets tight, I'd rather put the money underneath and tell you that before the pour than explain it after.

What you get when you hire us

Here's what working with us looks like from your side of the job. These are the things customers notice, and satisfaction guaranteed is our promise on every job.

  • The owner from first look to pour

You deal with me from the first visit to the day we pour, so what we agreed on is what gets built. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson and a crew.

  • An estimate you can compare line by line

Our written estimate spells out what's included, from tear-out and base work to joints and finish, so you can hold it next to anyone else's. If your job needs less than you planned, I'll tell you, even when that means a smaller job.

  • City or county, sorted before we start

Some Covina addresses sit in county pockets where Los Angeles County handles building, so we check which office covers your address first. We're fully licensed and insured, and when a job needs a permit, we pull it and set up the inspections.

What to expect from first call to pour

Here's how a job with us usually goes, from your first call to the finished slab, and who you'll be dealing with at each step along the way.

  1. Step 01

    Call or send the form

Call (626) 412-8840 or use the contact form with your address and what you have in mind. We get back to you within one business day to set a time to come out.

  2. Step 02

I walk and measure the job

I come out myself, look at the old slab or the open ground, measure it and see where the water runs. The estimate is free and on site, and there's no obligation to go ahead.

  3. Step 03

    Read your written estimate

You get it in writing, with each part of the job listed. Ask about anything that's unclear before you decide, because it's easier to change a line on paper than a slab in the ground.

  4. Step 04

    We form, pour and finish

A crew I've worked with for years does the forming, pouring and finishing, and I'm on site for the pour. We tell you when it's ready to walk on and drive on, because curing, the wait while concrete gains strength, shouldn't be rushed.
